A CONTEMPORARY MASTERPIECE

Aptly named ‘The Contemporary’, this chic and practical pool boasts clean, straight lines to create sleek, modern appeal. Rick Star Pools & Spas received a brief from the clients to build a functional, family-friendly pool with something for everyone. This dazzling pool sports a gorgeous sapphire colour made possible by the gel-coated fibreglass surface and features a versatile swim-out that leads to the pool house, with stairs for ease of entry. Completion of the 8m x 4.4m pool was also completed alongside a major renovation within the existing home for the client’s convenience.

B&L Building completed the major renovations and the pool house, as well as all landscaping. The placement of the pool on the property was carefully considered to make use of the available space, accommodate the pool house, and allow a beautiful view of the pool from the entertaining deck in the main residence. For consistency, the savvy use of the travertine pavers that surround the pool blends with the colour palette of the pool house. This was achieved by keeping the design in-line with the fresh renovation of the primary residence.

A Zodiac MagnaPool filter, which features a Zodiac IQ Pro Mid Hyroxinator, keeps the pool crisp and clean all yearround, whilst the sheltered pool house allows outdoor entertaining to be an impressive option regardless of the season. As per local regulations, a Basix certificate was required for compliance with the installation of a water tank within ten metres of the pool – a clever water saving feature!

As per the clear design brief, the pool had to be an eye-catching view to be admired from the entertaining deck; however, upon excavation in this location, the team hit an existing vitreous clay sewer line that was still in use. The experts at Rick Star Pools & Spas went above and beyond to keep the pool in the desired location by placing a sewer diversion to accommodate the request. Premium frameless glass fencing and high-quality,  stainless steel spigots were also included to achieve this unobstructed view of the sparkling pool.

An environmentally friendly solution, the Zodiac E3 FloPro variable speed pump with an 8-star energy rating keeps the pool in peak condition. The team at Rick Star Pools & Spas value high-quality finishes and have cleverly included underwater lighting with two Aquaquip LED EVO multi-coloured  lights to allow late night enjoyment of the spectacular pool.
