Pebble Masters Project 1

Displaying brilliant blue and pale, sandy hues, this newly renovated pool by Pebble Masters brings a holiday vibe to its owners’ backyard. The owners wanted a space where family and friends could come to enjoy time spent poolside against sweeping views of Whale Beach. In consultation with the clients, the expert team redesigned and revitalised the pool, and the finished result is a gorgeous space that is every bit as fetching as the beach it overlooks.

Colour takes centre stage in this project. The owners wanted the water to be as blue as possible, so Pebble Masters utilised a custom mix of Pebblesheen from Skypebble, which beautifully complements the slimline glass waterline mosaics from The Pool Tile Company. Echoing the beach, the entertainment area features sandy travertine pavers, and weathered decking that is reminiscent of driftwood.

The 11m x 4m pool includes a swim-out section and a submerged bench, which is perfect for lazing in the sun, while sleek, frameless glass fencing achieves an unobstructed view. Three multicoloured LED lights from Spa Electrics were cleverly retrofitted to the existing shell, allowing the pool to dazzle even at dusk.

Bringing new life to an old pool is never without its challenges, but in this case Pebble Masters ensured that the owners will be able to enjoy their refreshed outdoor space for many years to come. The existing concrete surface was riddled with hollow areas where the original pebblecrete had lifted from the shell, so Pebble Masters removed the damaged areas and lined it with an acrylic bondcrete. The pool was also suffering from rust, which the company carefully treated by removing the affected areas and sealing them with an epoxy coating to prevent a recurrence.
