This incredible new home has a claim to fame that few others can match, being constructed from genuine hand-finished sandstone blocks. Though clearly contemporary in both design and layout, the client wanted to elevate this luxurious home with a touch of classical style that would complement the design rather than clash with it.

KLS Sandstone delivered that touch with a range of sandstone blocks that combine modern style with breathtaking traditional finishes. The team made use of a traditional technique employing a hammer and bolster, hand finishing each block to achieve that coveted classical appearance. The result is hundreds of entirely unique hand tooled sandstone blocks, each possessing their own individual details replicated nowhere else.

Unique doesn’t mean imprecise however – natural Australian sandstone can be cut to suit any size requirements and the team took full advantage of this. The height of the blocks was calculated to ensure each was a perfect fit. These beautiful natural stone blocks are paired with natural timber flooring that completes the look. With the whole home being constructed with such durable materials, its owners will be able to luxuriate in its features for many years to come
