GOODMANORS Pools + Garden Project 7

The team at GOODMANORS Pool + Garden were tasked with transforming this simple 75m2 garden into an idyllic space for rest and relaxation in the sun. In order to fulfil the brief, the team focused on creating an exotic atmosphere by including plenty of luscious greenery.

The white backdrop of the house exterior and the grey concrete of the angled feature wall became significant unifying features within the design, and were further complemented by lush dichondra repens between 100mm x 30mm buffalo granite strips.

The simple backdrop ensures the vibrant flora stands out, while a diverse range of different green hues and leaf textures were carefully selected to create a dynamic appearance. Likewise, the garden’s existing bamboo plants became a central aspect of the design, with all subsequent plantings – such as asparagus fern and ligularia – introduced for their bold, contrasting shapes.

The clean lines and verdant, sculptural planting palette transformed the outdoor environment from a basic lawned yard into an unexpected private oasis in Sydney’s inner west.
