GOODMANORS Pool + Garden Project 5

This beautifully designed courtyard was crafted with privacy, entertainment and functionality in mind. Boasting an impressive alfresco area, luminous outdoor lighting and a sleek and unexpected plunge pool, the outdoor space has been designed to suit wining, dining and swimming. if this wasn’t enough, the courtyard has been cleverly equipped with built- in storage to house unsightly pool equipment, dryers and a bin, plus a secure parking space for the homeowner’s car.

The inner city courtyard has made the most of a small space by building the pool flush with the property’s boundary, while the frameless glass fencing – which meets new south Wales’ boundary regulations – ensures the outdoor area can be viewed from the home’s main living areas.

Natural materials have been used for the hardscaping around the pool, with spotted gum hardwood decking, bluestone coping and cedar vertical slatted feature walls, which provide interesting and textural focal points. The courtyard’s colour palette was kept neutral to ensure the pool would be the main feature of the backyard. The fully tiled pool and surrounding landscaping blends perfectly with the home’s architecture, and ensures the courtyard acts as a continuation of the home’s interior.

To finish off the space, GOODMANORSs Pool + Garden planted a selection of tropical plants in raised garden beds to enhance the courtyard’s resort-style feel, while also maximising its privacy.
