This stunning backyard feature was constructed as part of a modern extension to this beautiful federation home. The design of the L-shaped 7m x 3m concrete pool includes a separate area with submerged steps and seating. Cleverly installing a pool window gives a view of the deep end from the home’s downstairs rumpus room, allowing the occupants to watch the aquatic action. The window has also been specifically engineered to ensure it is structurally adequate for the large volume of pool water. Adding to the luxurious design is the inclusion of spa jets on the pool’s steps to create a tranquil spa effect. 

The functional pool design makes use of the limited available space without imposing on the remaining alfresco areas. The homeowner and Vaughan Architects, in consultation with the house builder and Artesian Pools have created a lush, cohesive backyard retreat. The greenery surrounding the swimming pool complements the Ezarri glass mosaic tiles in ‘Capricorn’, as well as the adjacent silver travertine pavers and timber accents. Taking advantage of the home’s new expansive windows, this opulent design seamlessly connects the alfresco and indoor living areas.
