Premier Pools
The outdoor design pictured here needed to be attractive, affordable and practical for the whole family. This was particularly important as the homeowner loves to entertain and the outdoor area was situated at the bottom of a slope. Premier Pools capitalised on the sloping nature of the site, however, by turning it into a destination with plenty of areas to relax in and around the water.
The unusual shape, style and practicality of this pool make it stand out from the crowd, and the use of natural stones in conjunction with the New Zealand pebble sheen interior, helps to integrate the pool and the home.
Despite facing the initial challenge of the main sewer running through the block, the team at Premier Pools worked with the restriction to create an interesting and engaging pool design.
The pool was designed by Damien Long of Premier Pools, who worked closely with the creative client. The homeowner has a business based in Bali and she had a very clear idea of what she wanted and how the pool would be used.
The landscape design was carried out by the company’s in-house landscape architect, who also had excellent instruction from the client as she helped to coordinate the landscape work.
Building within the Sydney metropolitan area and travelling to the Central Coast, Blue Mountains and South Coast for larger projects, Premier Pools’ portfolio is filled with works of art, like the pool pictured.
Established in 1983 by John Long and Klaus Christochowitz, Premier Pools has enjoyed a long and successful history in the pool design industry. Long’s son Damien and Christochowitz’s son Justin are now in charge of day-to-day operations, and form a tight-knit, family-owned company.
From tiny plunge pools to half-Olympic sizes, the company prides itself on being able to cater to the most difficult of sites. Building approximately 120 pools each year, Premier Pools has been the recipient of a multitude of national and international awards. Impressively, the company has won more than 105 national and international awards. The most recent awards won include the 2014/15 SPASA (Swimming Pool and Spa Association) NSW Awards where the company won five awards, the 2014/15 SPASA National Awards where it won silver, and the Master Builders Association (MBA) NSW Pool Awards where it won in two categories.
Employing in-house pool and landscape designers, Premier Pools is able to assist with the design of projects, working closely with leading landscapers to implement hard and soft landscaping to complete an overall stunning outdoor space.
