Set in the picturesque Blue Mountains, this Outback Pools project was transformed from an unusable backyard into an idyllic retreat.
The owners of the home wanted a functional family pool with plenty of ‘wow’ factor. Working closely with the homeowners, Outback Pools fulfilled the brief by combining a simple rectangular design with an eye-catching infinity edge.
Not without challenges, the site presented a significant slope and exposed rock. To combat this and achieve the dramatic infinity edge, extra engineering and piering was required to build the pool above-ground.
Measuring 8m x 4.5m, the concrete pool pairs a Quartzon interior in ‘Ice Blue’ with stunning blue mosaic tiles on the waterline and infinity edge. The two infinity-edge sides of the pool are clad in stacked stone, complementing the balance tank’s gold pebble interior finish.
The pool features two Waterco swim jets for exercise, as well as six Spa Electrics spa jets for relaxing post-workout.
Silver travertine paving was selected to complement the surrounding landscaping, while a combination of fully-frameless glass and black flat-top aluminium fencing was used to allow the bush backdrop to shine.
Family-owned and -operated, Outback Pools was established in 1976. The company specialises in custom-designed concrete pools, and can also organise finishing touches like fencing, paving and heating.
Outback Pools’ aim is to make the pool installation process as hassle-free as possible for its clients. Building up to 50 pools each year, the company services metropolitan Sydney and surrounding areas.
