GOODMANORS Pool + Garden Project 1

The featured pool and garden was renovated and revitalised by GOODMANORS pools + gardens, who offer a full design, construction and renovation service for pools and gardens as a complete package, so that the elements come together as a part of the entire property.

When the owners of the featured property came to GOODMANORS, they requested they transform their old swimming pool and garden to follow a more contemporary, timeless style. They wanted GOODMANORS to create a synergy between their internal living spaces and to increase the entertainment potential of their site, and the results are spectacular.

GOODMANORS upgraded the outdated swimming pool with high quality, timeless materials to complement an elegant, contemporary home and lifestyle, including the use of sparkling light blue Italian glass mosaic tiling. The entrance to the pool terrace was widened to provide a generous welcoming entry, and the terrace itself was
extended by the excavation and construction of tiered garden beds.

They incorporated a prominent classical water feature, which was visible from key internal and external vantage points, and used simplified materials and garden components in minimal colour ranges and textures to provide a clean, sophisticated ambience. They also created exterior green privacy walls by the use of structured, sculptured gardens.

The integration of outdoor dining and entertainment areas maximised the functionality of the site within limited space and circulation constraints, and GOODMANORS harmonised the recreation space with functional areas including the driveway and garage by the use of discreet screen planting.

GOODMANORS was established by Raoul van de Laak and Ron Berkelmans in 1986.
