The Landscape Company
The owners of this 50-acre regional property approached The landscape Company wanting an outdoor space that would provide endless hours of entertainment. They wanted to a pool with a shallow end for children to play, a deep end for diving and a length suitable for swimming laps. out of the pool, the homeowners wanted a large area to entertain and relax poolside.
The landscape Company’s design begins with a wide shallow end with entry steps and generous bench seating. This leads to 4m x 16m of open swim space, which increases in depth. Further bench seating at the deep end mirrors the shallow area, providing the perfect place to relax after swimming laps.
A gemtex interior is paired with mosaic tiles on the waterline, entry steps and bench seating. Four flush-mounted underwater led lights allow the pool to be enjoyed into the evening.
Basalt tiles in the home’s entertaining areas are continued outside on the wide basalt paths, leading to the outdoor entertaining space. Here, cool underfoot Himalayan sandstone was selected to surround the pool.
A large arbour on one side of the pool allows the homeowners and their guests to relax by the pool, while the complementary gazebo on the opposite side includes cooking facilities for outdoor dining.
In keeping with the traditional aesthetic, complementary plantings include camellias, rhododendrons, buxus, azaleas and magnolias.
