RESORT STYLE LIVING

CREATING A HAVEN FOR RELAXATION AND ENJOYMENT

A pool is a huge investment, and one that you want to get right. The team at Birds Landscape Design and Management understand the most important factor in pool building is good planning, and take no shortcuts to create just what you need.

Birds Landscape Design and Management is a landscape design firm that specialises in acreage and residential landscape design, as well as pool design. When designing your pool, they look at the pool as only one aspect of your property, and they take into consideration the impact it will have on the look and ambience of the whole property, and work to enhance it.

In order to create the outdoor retreat featured, many challenges needed to be overcome and it was clear it was a job for true professionals. These challenges included managing steep terrain, a large building platform, council restrictions, the location of water tanks, the protection of wildlife and bushland and bushfire restrictions.

As well as the design of this outdoor space, Birds Landscape Design and Management prepared and managed the documentation required for the landscaping, pool, front entry pillars and outdoor kitchen. Construction was completed by Balmoral Homes.

The end result is flawless. As the residence is situated close to natural bushland, it was integrated into the landscape design. The pool was kept close to the rear of the residence to protect the bushland behind, and a wet-edge was used to bring the two entities together.

The use of native grasses, boulder rocks, lucky stones, glass fencing and timber decking created a pool and entertainment area with a warm open vista amongst the bush setting. A small creek/pond was also included to buffer the outdoor kitchen which is perched at the edge of the drop off on top of the water tank. All pool pump and spa equipment is situated below the deck of the pool.

Established in 2000 by Martyne Bird, Birds Landscape Design and Management has 20 years of experience in both urban and rural residential design. Each design is unique and individually tailored to each project’s aesthetic requirements, as well as time and budgetary constraints. Their holistic designs boast an innovative blend of materials, water usage, plant selection, form and function and have been featured on Better Homes and Gardens.
